#5 COFFEE BREAK TALKS | ADVANCED MOTION CLIP EDITING USING TAGS AND CATEGORIES

21 JUNE 2018

TOPICS EXPLAINED:

Tags and categories help to to organize your resources and tell the system how to match appropriate motion clips to characters. This organization is what we'll use later in our Paths and Areas to easily select which groups of actors that we want to generate.

IN DETAIL

  • Manage Tags and Categories,
  • Crop the Motion Clip,
  • Control the Cycle mode and edit the Motion Clips,
  • Edit the Actor’s rest pose. The rest pose is used to adjust all Motion Clips used by the Actor,
  • Edit the Actors information including their name, description and thumbnail,
  • Edit the Actor’s textures and create variations,
  • Manage the Actor’s tags.

#4 COFFEE BREAK TALKS | EDITING POSES AND WORKING WITH MOTION CLIPS

31 May 2018

TOPICS EXPLAINED:

Anima’s advanced Pose Editor enables you to adjust the rotation of bones for each character and Motion Clip in your project . Using this invaluable feature you can subtly edit the look and correct any small issues in the way characters work with different Motion Clips. For example, due to slight variations in people’s proportions, some clips may cause parts of the model to interpenetrate; by allowing you to edit the rotation of each part of the rig, the pose editor enables you to fine tune and perfect the your animation.

IN DETAIL

  • Edit the Motion Clip’s global pose,
  • Edit a single character’s pose for all motion clips,
  • Edit a single actor’s pose for a specific motion clip,
  • Manage Tags and Categories,
  • Crop the Motion Clip,
  • Control the Cycle mode and edit the Motion Clips,
  • Edit the Actor’s rest pose. The rest pose is used to adjust all Motion Clips used by the Actor,
  • Edit the Actors information including their name, description and thumbnail,
  • Edit the Actor’s textures and create variations,
  • Manage the Actor’s tags.

#3 COFFEE BREAK TALKS | UNDERSTANDING THE AREA TOOL

10 May 2018

TOPICS EXPLAINED:

Area objects provide a simple way to place and simulate groups of static characters in your scenes with advanced control over the placement and orientation of characters. Areas can also be projected onto background models and make creating static character on uneven topology or even filling a stadium with an animated crowd a cinch.

IN DETAIL

  • Create a new area,
  • Edit the shape of an area,
  • Add actors to an area,
  • Create an area that is used by characters on a walkway,
  • Control the distribution of actors on an area using the grid,
  • Control the distribution of actors on an area using point markers,
  • Control the direction actors are facing,
  • Assign different motion categories to an area,
  • Create seated characters on a background model.

#2 COFFEE BREAK TALKS | WALK INTO ANIMA PATH TOOL AND BE ONE STEP AHEAD!

3 May 2018

TOPICS EXPLAINED:

The path tool provides an easy-to-use and intuitive method to add moving actors to your scenes. It works by creating paths for characters to follow, using advanced collision and avoidance simulation algorithms to create believable interaction. Walkways offer you exceptional control to achieve the exact distribution of characters you need. Characters can even be adjusted individually to fine-tune your scenes and help you direct the perfect animation.

IN DETAIL

  • Add a new Path Point to an existing Paths,
  • Create bifurcations by overlaying multiple Paths,
  • Generate walking characters with natural behaviors,
  • Understand the "Socialize" parameter,
  • Tuning up collisions for a perfect simulation.

#1 COFFEE BREAK TALKS | BACKGROUND GEOMETRY

26 April 2018

TOPICS EXPLAINED:

EXPORT PROCESS Understanding the "Pivot point" and the implication in the reduction of precision during the collision detection and drawing.
IMPORT PROCESS Understanding the "Autocenter". Working with the "Pivot point" and updating the background model.

ANIMA CROWD ANIMATION COURSE

In this anima© Course, we will learn to generate crowds in minutes and use them as TV backgrounds and films and give life to the architectural scenes without effort.

anima© is the first population tool available for Epic Unreal Engine©, 3ds Max© and Cinema 4D© to help architects, designers and 3D professionals incorporate hundreds of realistic characters into their scenes.

Historically generating crowds has always been a subject reserved for important animation studios, which will have large budgets, and could collaborate with many expert artists willing to accept being subjected to strenuous workdays. They used to be expensive and long-planned productions, out of the reach of any small company or freelancer.

anima©, the new scene population tool, facilitates work practices in Archviz and other fields. It has been hailed as the best solution to quickly and easily create stunning animations of 3D characters in a very short time.

Learn how to use anima®, from beginner basics to advanced techniques, with online video tutorials taught by Michele Bedendo.
